Baby Beach in Poipu: Everybody loves a hidden beach and it seems like this one is hidden right beneath your nose in Poipu. There is more than one beach on Kauai call "Baby Beach" but this is the one in Poipu. It's called baby beach because it's an easy beach to take small children and keep an eye on them. Plus the beach is mostly protected from wave action by the offshore reef. Be sure to wear sunscreen (especially children) and bring a beach umbrella because there isn't much shade.
Baby Beach is within easy walking distance from Kuhio Shores and Prince Kuhio Condos and other nearby resorts, but access is a little hard to find unless you know where to look. It has the nicest sand of all the small beaches on this stretch of shore near to Prince Kuhio Park.
Directions to Baby Beach in PoipuHoona Road is just off of Lawaii Road, look for the walkway to the right of the house at 5152 Hoona Road. In spite of being practically in the back yards of the houses along Hoona Road, the beach has a good vibe and private feel to it. (All beaches in Kauai are public. Homes and resorts built along them are required to provide a public access.) Baby Beach MapClick to explore more Kauai Beaches. Pictures and Comments By Doug Porter |
