It opened, they had a blessing (I will try and post the pictures) and it was PACKED! It was so crowded the computers went down. No music yet.
Welcome home Doug.

Default HTL opens

They were opening as we were leaving the resort yesterday...with a liquor license. Everyone was very excited about the reopening and what it would mean to the resort.

Default htl reopens

Since this is in two areas, I'll restate what I said earlier -- the Happy Talk Lounge reopened yesterday afternoon. They were working hard on Tuesday to refinish all the chairs. They have a liquor license. All were very excited to see it opening.

We should be excited. Without the bar it was like a ghost town. They had a few glitches like not expecting so many people to come and the credit card machine had a slow and painful death, but overall the reopening went well. I sent Doug pictures but don't know if he posted them yet.

They do not have the liquor license yet. They were issued a temporary. August 6th is the hearing with the board to issue to permanent.

Here are the pictures. I can't tell from them if the place was updated at all. Same tables, chairs, cushions, floor, etc. Was the bar re-sanded or something?

Anybody eaten at the Happy Talk or heard any comments? Any familiar faces on the staff? What's on the menu, etc?

I'd love to have some information.

Yes they resanded the bar and redid the floors. There is a review on the HTL on trip advisor. I spoke to Scott yesterday and he is working on getting the music going again.

Default Happy Talk Lounge is Alive and Well

We are at the resort and the Happy Talk lounge has been open for a week. With only word of mouth knowledge, they have been getting good crowds as more people learn of its opening. There are familiar faces on the wait staff and behind the bar. We had dinner there last night and the menu is better than the fare offered before it closed. It was a lively place and a very welcome addition. They are working on getting the live music back. It was so nice sitting on the terrace with that beautiful view while sipping Mai Tais.

Talking

That is great news. I know they have a few kinks to work out as always happens the first week, but Scott Pacer and the food and bev director are really on top of things and doing a wonderful job in such a short period of time. I can't wait to have my coconut shrimp in Sept. and of course a mai tai.
