Happy Talk to reopen?

HBR is holding a JOB FAIR today to hire servers, cooks and managers for the reopening of HTL. No reopening date set. At least that is some progress!!!!!

I heard a rumor from a front desk staff that the Happy Talk Lounge was to reopen July 15th or thereabouts. Evidently there are interviews being conducted for lounge staff!! Can anyone substantiate this?? It would be nice to have the number one location on the North Shore open again to share a jug of Mai Tais with friends and hopefully enjoy some excellent music as well.

Word from the Resort is that Celebrity is trying to have the Happy Talk Lounge open by July 11th. (I have also heard July 17th) They have been completing repairs, installing coolers, etc. in preparation. A job fair was held last week to interview staff. There is still some question if the liquor license is approved and whether all health dept. inspections have been done. The plan was for bar service along with lunch and dinner menu selections--limited, whatever that means.

The job fair notification is on Craigslist. I have asked the GM if music will return to HTL but all he wants is for it to open as soon as possible. I'm sure he is sick of owners asking when it will open. He said Celebrity will deal with entertainment later. That is part of the charm so I hope they follow through and rehire some of the popular entertainers.

Murmurs from people at the resort right now say July 12th is the reopening date of HTL. I can't wait to see if this is true.

Lots of worker bees around HTL today and my spies are saying they are really working hard to get it opened this weekend.
On August 6 is a hearing for Celebrity to get their liquor license they had transferred from Quintus, but the liquor board told me they have a temporary one waiting for them to come and pick up in Lihue. They can use the temp license until the hearing in August. So no excuses not to open. Now if they can just get the hot tub to work!

I got an email from the GM yesterday and he said they are reopening tomorrow, July 11th. Sharron Long, owner of 4321/2, arrives July 10th and will let me know if it truly does open.
