Wink

We could rehash the whys and why nots but the bottom line is they own it and could do what they wanted. It is now open (praise Jesus), doing great, good food, Scott is working almost 19 hours a day, and we hope that the restaurant can at least be used for weddings and special events until the economy picks back up.

I am so glad Norman is back. He is a good guy and a great slack key guitarist/singer.

Ospurr:
Norman is my favorite too. He performed at our vow renewal 3 years ago. I have his CD and listen to it all the time.
Doug, I do believe it is the same group performing jazz night and they also do a rock and roll night on Saturdays. It was always very popular for HTL before but not my favorite nights. I like the more traditional Hawaiian music and not the loud jazz night. I always felt sorry for guests staying in the units close to the bar.
I just spoke with a VOA owner at the resort and she said hula night (last night) was a huge success.
Guess what? Parking is a problem once again..... that's a good sign we are getting back to normal.

I went to your favorite jazz night, Doug, and I still am having a hard time hearing. I guess the guys that play are so loud the Princeville Assoc filed a complaint. HTL was jammed the night I went which was so nice to see. Someone needs to tell the bartender to add a bit more booze in the drinks especially for the prices you pay.
Norm was fun to see on Thursday, and Garrett who used to be the Chief Engineer, performed on Friday. The food was pretty good and breakfast at Bali Hai was great.

Cool

Expect HTL to close again Feb 1. New owners are being sought. If you have an itch to run a restaurant let us know!
